You would think it deserves a little more love and respect. It’s still a plain, mostly empty dimension with a couple of mobs, a structure with the most OP loot, and the literal boss of the game. This dimension has been kind of neglected by the Mojang team so far. However, that does not stop us from having our own ideas and speculating what the theme of the next update will be.īy far, one of the most asked-for updates in the history of Minecraft is the End Update. For this reason, Mojang will possibly take its sweet time with naming the Minecraft 1.21 update and focus on the features first. This was possibly an outcome of the community discontent mentioned in the previous section.
Minecraft 1.20 received its official name several months later. The last major update MC 1.20 didn’t have an official name when it was first announced back in October 2022. This makes it the only block in the game that is both a light source and blast resistant. What's more, it has the same durability as Obsidian, so it can't be destroyed by Creepers, Ghasts, the Ender Dragon, TnT, and other explosives. Beyond this, however, Crying Obsidian has some other properties which make it useful for building.Īside from looking cool, Crying Obsidian actually gives off a light level of 10, meaning it can be used to light rooms or grow crops. Every time the player dies, one Glowstone is used up, and the player must continue to to recharge it by placing more Glowstone in it (it can hold up to four total). This block is used to allow the player to respawn in the Nether, but it must be charged with Glowstone blocks. By combining 6 Crying Obsidian with 3 Glowstone, the player can craft a Respawn Anchor. The main use of Crying Obsidian is as a crafting material, believe it or not.
